The 1980’s saw the age of the Dynasty television empire, with big shoulders on everything. Flash dance active wear with off the shoulder jersey’s, big dangling earrings, slogan tees, crop tops and more. Yes, the 1980’s are back in a prominent way this year. Fashion experts advise that you don’t go too over the top sporting your 1980’s look. It’s best to keep to one element at time, and pay attention to your silhouette. Some of the styles being revisited could make you look a size bigger – after all, everything in the 80’s was bigger!
1) Animal Prints
Leopards, Tigers, Zebras, Cheetahs, Snakes and Alligators! The fashion runways this year saw all manner of animal prints coming back for spring and summer. Animal prints can make any outfit seem trendy or sophisticated, so long as it’s done right. The main advice this year for animal prints is to keep it elegant! Let’s face it, animal prints are incredibly cool and chic. Styles this year have been elevated to the next level, with their wink to the 80’s, on fashion runways. Leopard prints especially made their mark on the catwalks. Nicole Miller gave her nod to a Courtney Love grunge throwback with her animal print blouse and ruffled skirt. Kate Spade elevated the leopard print with her black mini skirt adorned with a full leopard image on each side. So, if you want to let your inner animal out this year, just make sure you keep it classy.
