When it comes to aging prematurely, there are some obvious and some not so apparent things you may or may not be aware of. We all know smoking, drinking in excess, baking in the sun without proper protection, eating bad foods and not exercising can make us look and feel old before our time. There are some things that may not be on your radar of reasons you may be aging faster than you should. Whether they are known or not, these things can speed up your clock and make you look and feel older than you are. If you want to remain as youthful and energetic as possible, consider these 11 things that will age you prematurely.
1) Sleep Schedule
It’s common for busy people to overlook a good night’s sleep. We live in a hectic, fast paced world and often cram too many things into our daily routines. Not turning in early, and the resultant lack of sleep, can turn into serious health issues. Diabetes, weight gain, high blood pressure, and just plain looking old and tired are some of the ill effects of not getting proper sleep. It’s recommended that you try to stick to the same bedtime schedule as often as possible. Not everyone needs exactly 8 hours of sleep, so knowing what works best for you is a good place to start. Sleep experts recommend not setting your alarm to see how long you naturally sleep. From there you can determine your required amount. Once you’ve determined a solid number of hours, you should stick to it as often as possible.
