We all love to eat it but hate its effects: sugar. Most of the food you eat every day has some sugar in it. It is important to check the food label on the foods you consume to find out what ingredients are in it. You may be amazed to find out that the bread you are eating has some added sugar. Consuming an excess amount of sugar every day can lead to serious side effects from decreased motivation to poor skin. Next time you are looking for a snack, skip the sugar and notice a difference in your health and looks.

Sugar is one of the worst things for your skin and body because of its impact on insulin. When a person eats food with high levels of sugar, insulin levels rise throughout the body. As insulin levels rise, the skin produces more oil, especially on the face. Acne is caused by clogged pores and is exacerbated by oil on the skin. However, this does not mean you should avoid all sugars for the rest of your life. It is important to understand the difference between natural sugars and processed sugars. Natural sugars are the ones found in fruits, while processed sugars are added into food. It is okay to eat fruits with natural sugar. Make sure you carefully read the label on all the food you are eating. Some foods that you would not expect to have sugar does, such as bread or ketchup. If you are eliminating sugar from your diet to lose weight, the best way to cut the sugar is to do it gradually. When you are craving sugar, substitute a healthier option such as fruit or yogurt.

Salt may not be your only enemy when faced with hypertension, also known as high blood pressure. This is good news for people who struggle to get their blood pressure under control. While it is unknown as to why consuming large quantities of sugar daily leads to an increase in heart attacks, it is known that there is a correlation. Not only does your risk of a heart attack increase but so does your risk of dying from a cardiovascular disease. It is important to take care of your body and treat your heart right. The American Heart Association recommends a maximum six teaspoons of sugar for women per day, and nine teaspoons of sugar for men per day. This is equivalent to about 2/3 of a can of coca cola or two blocks of 85% dark chocolate. The overall goal is to bring sugar down to 10% of the daily calories you consume so that you can live a long healthy life.

These are very serious complications that can occur from consuming too many calories every day. One of the best way to prevent diabetes is to eat healthier and lower your calorie intake.

A diet high in sugar puts you at a higher risk to develop certain cancers. Specifically, you may be at a higher risk of being diagnosed with breast, colon, or kidney cancer. It is a common misconception that sugar causes cancer to spread faster because cells use glucose to function and grow. This is not the case. However, added sugars in your foods may cause you to become overweight which in turn gives you a higher risk to develop these cancers. If you are concerned that you may have cancer or that your sugar intake may be putting you at a high risk for certain cancers, it is important that you speak to your doctor. Start reducing your sugar intake today and put yourself at a lower risk to develop cancer.

Naps will through off your sleep schedule and cause you to struggle to sleep at night.

Every person has a plethora of bacteria in their mouth. This bacteria does not cause any issues unless you start eating a lot of sugar. Bacteria will feed on the sugar you consume and produces acid which ultimately leads to cavities in your mouth. If you leave cavities for too long they will dig deeper into your teeth and go past the enamel. This is when cavities start to become a particularly painful experience and cost you a fortune at the dentist.
